April Fool’s is always a fun time for eegee’s, a QSR in Tucson, AZ. eegee’s is known for developing new flavors every year and in January of 2015 they launched a new flavor Red Licorice. This gave us a spring board to push the envelope a bit farther and develop a believable yet shocking flavor for April Fool’s.
Introducing Flaming Hot Cheetos flavored eegee’s. Now this flavor didn’t really exist, though when people came into the store and asked for it, they got a free small eegee’s of their choice and a bag of Flamin’ Hot Cheetos.
The campaign consisted of an email blast and a single post on Facebook, Twitter and Instagram.
To try and confuse people a bit more, we sent the email blast of the flavor a day before April Fool’s and set up a social war room to further interact and add to the confusion!
